A buttery vanilla bundt cake swirled with cocoa batter for a classic marbled look. Serves 12.

Prepare the pan. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter and flour a 10-cup bundt pan.
Cream. Beat the butter and sugar for 4 minutes until fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then the vanilla.
Make the vanilla batter. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to the butter mixture in three parts, alternating with the milk.
Make the chocolate batter. Mix the cocoa, sugar, and milk into a paste, then stir it into one third of the batter.
Swirl. Spoon the two batters into the pan in alternating dollops, then run a knife through them two or three times.
Bake. Bake for 50–55 minutes, until a skewer comes out clean. Cool for 15 minutes, then turn out onto a rack.
